About Us

For 30 years, Best Beginnings has been providing a quality, traditional preschool education program to children ages 3, 4 and 5 living on the Eastside. We are part of the outreach program of Holy Cross Episcopal Church offering a play and theme-based, non-denominational curriculum. We pride ourselves on modeling strong human values and demonstrating respect for one another, for the children, their parents, our community, and the church with whom we share space. 

Our campus is in Redmond on Education Hill. We have a staff of twelve and serve more than 100 children. We maintain a teacher/student ratio of 1:7 in our 3's classes and 1:8 in our 4's Pre-K and Transitional Kindergarten classes. Best Beginnings Preschool is a non-profit organization welcoming students and families of any religion, race, color, national or ethnic origin or family structure. Our primary goal is to provide a warm, nurturing environment where children can learn, play, and grow. Our theme-based curriculum encourages exploration in the areas of art, large and fine motor skills, music, cooking, drama, science, and kindergarten readiness. Our teachers work hard to instill a sense of personal responsibility, caring and appreciation for others while being mindful of building a strong sense of self-esteem in our students.

  The staff at Best Beginnings have a wide variety of professional backgrounds including those with degrees in elementary education, speech therapy, special education, art, business, and early childhood education. Staff members are selected based on their training, experience, and ability to work with young children. Most have worked with children in a variety of volunteer settings as well. All are moms and share a love for children, for creativity, for learning and provide a nurturing, caring environment. Staff members regularly update their professional skills, including CPR and first aid training, through continuing education classes and seminars. At our monthly staff meetings, we share ideas about art, music, books, and circle time as well as having speakers to keep us updated on a variety of professional topics.
